AnyaDoula is the heart and brainchild of Anya Willoughby. Anya served as a nurse for over 15 years mainly working in private practice women's services-caring for women across the lifespan. She wanted to serve women in a more holistic and natural style so she completed the SMC Full Circle Doula Training with renowned midwife, Shafia Monroe "Queen Mother of a Midwife Movement" . The SMC training foundation is rooted in the legacy of African American midwives and the midwifery model of care. She is currently enrolled in midwifery school. Anya has a current LVN license in the state of Texas and is certified as a CPR instructor with American Heart Association. She graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor's in Public Affairs and minor in Speech Communications. Her interests are reproductive justice, birth justice, health inequity, social justice, and cultural competence.
