"I am honored to be called to take care of women at such a transformative stage in their lives. I am most grateful to have found a path that allows me to continue caring for women in a way that aligns with my personal values- which center women and their support team in every manner of her healthcare. I serve EVERY woman. I am committed to improving birth outcomes in my community and beyond, especially for minority women. My promise to my clients is to serve them with compassion, dignity, and respect.
Anya worked as a nurse for over 15 years in women's health services. She became an LVN while serving in the U.S. Army. Most of her nursing experience has been working in private practice OBGYN offices caring for women throughout the lifespan. She wanted to serve women in a more holistic and natural style so she completed doula training with SMC, a doula training with a foundation rooted in the legacy of African American midwives and the midwifery model of care. Anya currently holds an LVN and a teaching license in the state of Texas and is certified as a CPR instructor with Red Cross. She graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor's in Public Affairs with a minor in Speech Communications. Her interests are reproductive justice, birth justice, health inequity, social justice, and cultural competence. Last but certainly not least, Anya is the proud mom of two amazing young men who bring her so much joy.
